Grooming.

Finally paid visits to my hair and nail sponsors this month. 

Have not been doing so for the past few months because I got too caught up in work.

Started preparing for the shifting of office since March,

finally shifted in May,

settled down in June,

and now it's halfway through July.

Work load has also doubled this year.

But we have not increased our head count at the office.

So that makes us twice as busy.

It's all good though.

Being busy.

Just that I totally neglected my personal grooming and had to live with my ugly bare nails and unkempt hair for the past few months.

I now see why some girls spend so much (both time and money) on grooming every month.

It really makes a huge difference!

I feel so much happier when I have nice nails and hair.
It also increases my confidence when I have to attend events and meet new people.
It is also much easier to take OOTDs with my new hair!

Just how flat and shapeless can it get???

Long fringe really does not suit me because my face shape is naturally oval,
and it does not frame my face well.
So I told my stylist at COVO to snip it off and give me a short(er) side swept fringe which is easy for me to maintain.

My hair was not layered previously so I told Yoshi (my stylist) to give it some layers this time round.


So pleased with how the haircut turned out!
Immediately took selfies in my new hair and sent them to Thom.
Hahaha.

Also got treatment done because Yoshi told me that my hair was too dry.
As usual,
the treatment was so extremely relaxing and calming that it almost lured me to sleep.
Also love that the hair stylists at COVO are always gentle with handling my hair during washes,
unlike some other salons that I have been to previously.
Maybe it's a Japanese thing?
Hahaha.

Always be Thankful.

Whenever the stress of work or life gets to me,

I turn into a perpetual grumbler.

You'll be surprised at how much I can whine and grumble (to the ones close to me) when I feel that life is too much for me to handle or when I'm feeling upset.

However,

I'm growing to learn that life definitely has its ups and downs.

I also try to think of things in my life that I have to be thankful about to make myself feel better.

I find that this works for me most of the time and you should try it on your bad days too!

Here are some of the things which made my week a much better one!

Going home to my cute babies













There's no way anyone can still feel crappy after seeing their cute furry little faces!
Instant mood lift when I see Xiao Bai dashing and barking excitedly whenever anyone comes home.


Getting my nails done at Milly's









Aren't pineapples just too extremely cute on nails (and my Naked Glory watch)???
Thought that it would be a good idea to have pineapple nails instead of red-ish/CNY-ish nails.
Anyway, pineapples means "good fortune come" in dialect,
which is apt enough for new year.
And I love pineapple tarts!
Genius interpretation of CNY nails if I can say so myself.
LOL.

Chloe (my manicurist) did such a good job of them!
Couldn't stop telling her "OMG 你很厉害叻!" after she was done drawing the f irst pineapple for me to see.

Book your appointments NOW because they don't have time to do walk-in slots anymore!
And I also heard that bookings are all full...
But you can call and try your luck in case anyone cancels their appointments!

I feel bad about not updating this space as much as I usually do.

But then again, I'm pretty occupied having to run two businesses and managing my blog at the same time.

If you take into consideration that I have to travel overseas twice a month,

you easily can tell that I have no life.

Still enjoying it though!

I'm sorry if my updates are getting monotonous but I'm trying very hard!

Just that during my free time,

I prefer to do more relaxing activities like eating (which is why you see so many food pictures on my blog), or shopping.

I'm also less adventurous nowadays when it comes to food.

Given that I hardly have time for nice meals nowadays,

I tend to go back to the few places which I like to eat at.

My outfit updates will not stop though!

Sissy and I had dinner at Saveur a few days ago before getting our nails done at Milly's.
It's a casual chic French place which serves really affordable French food!

We ordered their signature pasta called Saveur's Pasta (pasta tossed with chilli oil, fine-chopped Japanese konbu and sakura ebi with minced pork sauce) , Foie Gras (with apple infused port wine and vanilla bean), and Duck Confit (with homemade mash potato, sauteed shitake mushroom, orange segments and orange infused jus)!

The pasta is only $4.90, foie gras $9.90 and duck confit $10.90!

The food also tasted really heavenly.
I especially love the pasta, foie gras and the mashed potato of the duck confit!

I've finally had time this week (my schedule is super packed omg) to redo a new set of nails at Milly's!

I had so many things to deal with this week and so I didn't have time to research on any nail art that I want to do...

So I thought I would request for something simple but nice,

like florals on a pastel base or something.

Until I saw the nail art on my manicurist's nails.

I WAS LIKE OMG I WANT TO DO THIS PLEASE!

Now would be a good time to squeal and then die of cuteness overload.
Hahaha.
Honestly...
Everywhere I went today had girls telling me how cute my nails were.
And then they proceed to ask other girls around them to take a look.
I was surrounded by girls everywhere I went, hahah.
Maybe guys should consider doing this.
LOL.
I kid.

I had such a good time doing my nails with her because it was so nice to chat with her.
2 hours passed by in a blink.

She's the best person to do this set of nails because she's the one who designed it from scratch!
GENIUS RIGHT?
She looked into every single nitty gritty detail to make sure that my nails turned out perfect.
And I just kept telling her how awesome she (and the nail design) is.

the cat on my last finger has colourful polka dots all over!
And some of the colours are specially mixed to get the specific shade that the design requires.
