Always be Thankful.

Whenever the stress of work or life gets to me,

I turn into a perpetual grumbler.

You'll be surprised at how much I can whine and grumble (to the ones close to me) when I feel that life is too much for me to handle or when I'm feeling upset.

However,

I'm growing to learn that life definitely has its ups and downs.

I also try to think of things in my life that I have to be thankful about to make myself feel better.

I find that this works for me most of the time and you should try it on your bad days too!

Here are some of the things which made my week a much better one!

Such as...

Going home to my cute babies













There's no way anyone can still feel crappy after seeing their cute furry little faces!
Instant mood lift when I see Xiao Bai dashing and barking excitedly whenever anyone comes home.


Getting my nails done at Milly's









Aren't pineapples just too extremely cute on nails (and my Naked Glory watch)???
Thought that it would be a good idea to have pineapple nails instead of red-ish/CNY-ish nails.
Anyway, pineapples means "good fortune come" in dialect,
which is apt enough for new year.
And I love pineapple tarts!
Genius interpretation of CNY nails if I can say so myself.
LOL.

Chloe (my manicurist) did such a good job of them!
Couldn't stop telling her "OMG 你很厉害叻!" after she was done drawing the f irst pineapple for me to see.

Book your appointments NOW because they don't have time to do walk-in slots anymore!
And I also heard that bookings are all full...
But you can call and try your luck in case anyone cancels their appointments!

Nothing more satisfying than fulfilling a food craving.

Had Bak Kut Teh with Thom today for dinner.

Am blessed with the best boyfriend who always selflessly lets me decide whatever food we're eating for the day.

I think we were too ambitious and ended up over ordering for a table of two.
Hahaha.

This white peppery bak kut teh was pretty good by my standards!
We usually go to the one at Joo Chiat but I thought this was comparable.
In case you don't know, you can ask for them to refill your soup and it's free of charge.
:)




Their braised pork trotters are extremely tender and they fall apart in my mouth instantly.
TOTALLY YUMS.
Gonna order this again the next time I'm there!

They were surprisingly quite empty for a Friday night but the food far exceeded my expectations.
Will definitely visit soon when another craving for Bak Kut Teh hits me.
Hehe.

Outing

Still in Korea but I'm definitely not neglecting my blog updates!

Hehe.
Coming back in 2 days' time so I'll be posting up my Korea blog posts by then!

We brought our little princess for an outing on Sunday despite the pouring rain.

Work has been crazily hectic recently so I'm really thankful to have spent a peaceful afternoon around people I love.

Me and Thom initally planned to try Cafe Melba and coincidentally,
Sissy and Ben wanted to bring Xiaobai there since it is a pet friendly cafe.
So we headed there together!
:)

My funny little love who loves going gai gai,
but loves being at home even more than going gai gai.
Hahaha.
I think her favourite part of going out is going home.

I can NEVER resist her cute puppy eyes,
especially when she sticks her pink little tongue out at the same time as well.

She must have been in a good day that day to let us take so many pictures of her.

Usually when she sees my camera lens/iPhone pointing at her,
she buries her head in my arms.
Just refuse to the max.

UNGLAM BUT STILL CUTE!

As you might have realised,
our collective favourite word to use when we talk to Xiaobai/talk to each other about her is 'CUTE'.
You can hear it at least 20 times per day in my house.

When we talk to her,
we'll go 'Cutie pie, why you so cute?'.
And then if she does an action which we find adorable,
we squeal to each other (me and my sisters) 'Omg look Xiaobai so cuteeeeeee!'

And it's so inexplicable how we change our voices to baby talk whenever we talk to Xiaobai.
It's also impossible to be in a bad mood when you see her prancing around at home with her fat little butt.

You get the idea.
We're obsessed,
even after 6 years spent with this little furball.







Her favourite human beings other than my family are Thom, Ben and Jianting.
That's why we call her The Little Slut at times too.
Hahaha.
Always excited like mad whenever any of them step foot into my house and rushing up to lick them on the faces and all.
S L U T.










It was pouring when we reached the cafe so we didn't have to queue for seats at all.
The place was filled with families and couples though,
so I imagine on a regular non rainy weekend that you'll have to queue for a bit.

It's a pet friendly cafe and that is pretty rare in Singapore so there were quite a few doggies around!
Xiaobai is really anti social around dogs,
so we kept her on our laps.

The food at Cafe Melba are pretty great too!
I didn't order any main dish,
just Iced Mocha and shared truffle fries with them because I was only feeling peckish.

The fries are really good though!
Almost comparable to the ones I've had at Symmetry.
And that's saying a lot.
;)






Staring at us eat good food.
But truth is,
she eats the best food amongst us all!
My mum cooks her salmon every single day.

Good life please.






None of the above belonged to me but I stole a few bites from their plates!
Will definitely be going back again with an emptier stomach in future.
