Wimbly Lu (revisited)

It's been a rainy and homely Sunday.
Stayed home for the most part of today because the weather made me so lazy to head out.
Saturday was a fulfilling one because I finally brought Thom to try the ultra nice waffles at Wimbly Lu.
:)

Year ends are always hectic when it comes to work.
Really hope it will be over soon so that I can take a much needed break from the stress of work.

Outfit of the day:
Ashby Lace Back Romper on TTR,
shoes from Aldo,
bag from A wang

I swear I'm in love with outfits that come with mesmerizing lace details.
We spent a long time hunting for this particular lace that scallops at the edges just like the original Miss Selfridge piece.
So glad to have made this piece come true!

You can get yours now from www.thetinselrack.com,
we just launched it at 8PM!
;)

And here's another photo of the back view because it is just too lovely for words.

We went at around 5pm and were pretty lucky to get our seats immediately.
Too bad they served only desserts and drinks at that timing.
I was looking for something more filling than desserts.

Chocolate Marshmallow Pie for my sweet tooth

Poor Thom had separators put in for his upcoming braces treatment and couldn't eat anything besides old people food.
So I had to finish most of the desserts we ordered.
Need to start working out more to burn off all the calories.

Still trying to abstain from caffeine (KOI being the exception),
so I ordered the Iced Honey Lemon drink!

Wimbly Lu's famous waffles with a scoop of homemade salted caramel ice cream.
Thom loved this as well,
so I guess we'll be back for another round of it soon enough!

The lights came on just as we were about to be done with our desserts and drinks.
Too pretty.

This was the other thing which brought me some cheer over the gloomy weekends...
Many thanks to Mei Ting and the team at Benefit Singapore for sending this pretty Christmas gift set my way!
:)

Benefit is and always will be one of my favourite cosmetic brands.

This gift box contains my favourites from Benefit:
Porefessional and Benefit which comes in a super handy travel size.

I'm also stoked to try the Dandelion and Gimme Fever blush,
which thoughtfully came with a brush too!

Benefit always comes up with the prettiest packaging!
This is a really good gift idea for Christmas and I'll definitely be giving Benefit to some of my friends this festive season.
They make great gifts for your girlfriends!

On a completely unrelated note,
I also spent part of my weekend packing my clothes, bags, shoes, nail polishes and accessorizes for a flea event which I will be attending on the 28/29 December.
;)
More details to be up soon on my blog!

Meanwhile,
I hope your Monday will be kind to you.
Byeeeeee!

By the Windowsill

My eyes are threatening to close but I feel compelled to blog because these pictures have been sitting on my desktop for the past week or so.
If I leave them there any longer,
I probably won't have any more motivation to blog about it.
But I do want to blog because I have an awesome dessert cafe to introduce!

So just bear with any imperfections in this post because I'm typing this entry into the wee hours of the morning.

Visited The Bravery after reading several good reviews online.
But I wasn't impressed with the place/food, somehow.
It could be that we ordered the wrong dishes...
But nothing that day manage to make any positive impression on us.

Plus, the place was kind of hard to find.
They didn't have any name/signboard on the exterior of the cafe too.

Went around the area and we chanced upon Windowsill Pies!
Heard quite a bit about it from my friend who is working nearby so I thought we should give it a try since our brunch was not satisfying in any way.

I love the exterior decor of the cafe!
The windowsill design is so clever, isn't it?
I'm happy that I managed to get a seat right next to the window too!

They were out of iced mocha that day,
and I don't know what made me order the iced chai latte.
My taste buds and the iced chai latte just don't agree with each other.

You would have already seen some of these pictures from my Dayre (www.dayre.me/joycesayshello),
but I personally prefer seeing them on my blog still because they look prettier.
Hahaha.

It's getting a bit quiet on my Dayre because I'm currently extremely busy with work and thus have no life to speak of.
And it's challenging to update Dayre if you have a boring life.

Anyway, back to the pies.
I really enjoyed them a lot!
Ordered the truffle white chocolate pudding pie and it was SO GOOD.
Finished every last crumble of it.
I didn't even know that pies could taste this awesome.

I'm now a pie convert!
Hehe.

The lemon strawberry pie did not appeal to me as much because it was a little too sour for my liking,
even though the meringue did help to balance it out a little.
I want to head back and try the banana almond brittle soon!

I think the pies also make great substitutes for birthday cakes.

I can't stop thinking about them.
HELP.

Also made Thom do a few outfit shots for fun!
Hehehe.

I'm so glad that he's finally done with exams (but not yet with uni, boo)!
We can finally spend a little more time together and I'm really looking forward to that.

Goodnight sweet pies (haha I'm clearly obsessed)!
I'm hoping for a good day tomorrow,
it's my day off from work!

Lion City.

So...
Thom and I decided to head out to town on National Day despite knowing that the crowd would be terrible since it's a PH and all.
And we agreed to dress up accordingly to the theme of red and white,
just for the fun of it.

Little did I know that we would end up in startlingly similar outfits.
Swear I very nearly fainted when I spotted him walking towards me in red and white checks as well.

Once I got over the shock (and the thought of running home to change into another outfit),
it wasn't so bad hahahaha.
Usually I would even avoid wearing the same colour as him.
Guess it's just not in me to be all couple-y and sweet.
Hahaha.

For the record, Thom told me he was going to be in a white shirt and burgundy pants.
But unfortunately,
the only white shirt he has was nowhere to be found.
LOL.

Outfit of the day:
Upcoming tuxedo romper in picnic checks on TTR,
bag from Bricks and Bolsas,
shoes from Left Foot.

No better day than National Day to be donned in red and white!
Immediately thought of this outfit when we agreed on a dress code for the day.

The checkered prints are so cute I can't even.
In fact, when I drew this design out for my suppliers,
I specifically said I wanted it to come in a checkered fabric like those you see on picnic mats!
Heh.

And since we had a dress code for the day,
I thought I could feature Thom's outfit on my blog as well.
HAHAHA.

jeans from i-dont-know-where,
shoes and bag from overseas.

Happy Birthday, Singapore!
You will always be near and dear to my heart no matter where I go.

The crowd in town was surprisingly light for a public holiday.
And we headed straight for my favourite Korean restaurant - Sarang!
This was where my love for Korean food began.
I've been here for many times already but usually I visit it at night,
so photos of the food didn't turn out nice.

Finally I get a chance to share this awesome place with you all!
:)

So far I've tried a good variety of food on their menu...
And I really really REALLY recommend the spicy seasoned pork (it's not really that spicy for those of you who don't take hot stuff) and the army stew!

The pancake is really good as well but I doubt me and Thom could finish that much.
Good place to go with your friends because the portions are huge and you can all share!

Alrighty, I'm off to get some shut-eye before my flight later (which is at an unearthly hour OMG)!
Will blog again some time this week to show you my OOTDs from the upcoming launch!
