Letter from me to you.

P4039183

To you,

Today I am thankful for having met someone as wonderful as you.
I must have done something really right to deserve having you in my life.

With us,
it is not as perfect as a fairytale love story.
We quarrel, we face problems and we have our fair share of unhappy moments and disagreements.
We don't appear to be the most loving couple around.

You don't splurge on lavish gifts for me every other day.

You don't spend months planning the perfect surprise for me.

I'm someone who is really impatient and short tempered at times,
often venting my frustrations on you.
(Haha I can totally imagine you nodding when you read this!)

I am not as encouraging as I should be towards you.

I am not the sweetest and most thoughtful girlfriend around and I even booked a work trip on our actual day of anniversary this year.

But amongst all the imperfection in our relationship,
our love towards each other never falters.
Because we understand that true love is almost never perfect.
But we always try.

Through all my problems,
you are always there to hear me rant and let me cry on your shoulder.
You are always providing me with every solution that you have thought possible.

You have seen me at my worst and you're still willing to embrace all of me.
So, thank you for loving me when I least deserve it,
because that's when I really need it.

"You have made a place in my heart where I thought there was no room for anything else. You have made flowers grow where I cultivated dust and stones."

I love you.

Love,
Me

7th.

So...
After celebrating our usual anniversaries and special days at Dozo for several times in a row (I KNOW RIGHT SO UNADVENTUROUS),
I went to do some research and read some reviews online.
And we ended up at Tatsuya for our 7th year celebration!

7 years sounds really ancient, but it's not really a super big deal for me?
I actually have friends whose relationships that are just as long or even longer than mine.
And if we're looking at the long term future,
7 years is actually not that long.

:)

The ala carte dishes are pretty pricey at Tatsuya, around $30 each for both the salmon sashimi and the soft shell crab tempura!
But omg, the best soft shell crab I've tasted.
Salmon sashimi was alright, not significantly nicer than where I usually have mine (at Itacho) even though the menu states that they import their sashimi directly from the Tsukiji Fish Market in Japan.

If you order their 8 course meal, it will be a whooping $200 per pax.
So we went for their set lunch instead, which was rather affordable at $30 per set.
:)

I've read some reviews and they say you might have to wait up to 1 hour in queue on most weekday nights,
so it will be best if you make reservations before heading there!

I did call to book seats but the place was surprisingly quite empty on a Sunday afternoon.

My choice of outfit for our anniversary lunch:
Fits Like Royalty Dress in Pristine White.

Honestly I love everything about this dress.
The material feels super luxe (like butter!) and the fit is crazily perfect.
But what I love most is the awesome scoop back which reveals just about enough skin,
but not too much that you have to wear a stick on bra with it.
And it makes my waist look ridiculously tiny.

Okay end of rave.
I think I'm gonna need to have all colours for this dress!

Stopped by at Antoinette's for desserts and tea!
Couldn't really remember anything except that the strawberry shortcake is the BOMBZ and that the air conditioning was super duper freezingly cold.
Dashed out of the place once we had our fill of the desserts.
Didn't even want to stay in there for another minute, hahahah.

And thanks to awesome Yoko who sponsored us another pair of her super popular Casio couple watches!
:)))
I'm not one who will go for couple outfits,
so couple watches work just fine for me.

Thom was exceptionally pleased with this watch because it's so him.
Matches with every single one of his outfits and he's getting so much wear out of it.

Get a pair of these gorgeous babies from NAKED GLORY and I'm sure your boyfriend will love you for it!
You can thank me for it later.
Hehe.

Thank you for everything that you've done for me for the past 7 years,
which sounds damn long but actually does not feel that long at all.
Thank you for having superhuman patience when I'm having bad days,
thank you for pointing out directions whenever I'm wandering around lost,
thank you for not walking away no matter what,
and thank you for being the solid rock in my life and for never ever failing to let me know that whatever happens, there's always you by my side.
Your love for me is so unconditional that sometimes it gets quite unbelievable.
You're the best I've ever had and will ever have.
Even on days when we annoy the shit out of each other,
on days I make you frustrated to no end,
on days you take shitty outfit photos of me which makes me equally frustrated (LOL)
I still love you all the same.

2190 days.

Dinner at PS cafe (Harding Road) to celebrate our 6th year anniversary.
:)
It's so hard to fathom the idea that we've been together for so long,
2190 days to be exact, thus the title of my post.
It sure doesn't feel that long though.
Time seems to pass so quickly that we hardly even noticed.

Outfit of the day!
Dreamcatcher lace crochet top upcoming on TTR paired with Fairylights Fishtail Skirt in Blackberry.
It's been long since I found reason to wear heels.
Heh.
:)

We were a lil too early because they only open at 6.30pm for dinner.

This is my original piece from Topshop!
:)
You'll be happy to hear that we got the factory to hunt down the exact same crochet!
And we'll be adding a thicker lining cos the original piece is rather sheer.

Look out for this piece sometime in May!
You're gonna loveeee the colours I picked too,
but I shall keep that hush-hush for now.

My boyflen.

Asked for Al Fresco seating because it looked nice and near to nature. ;)

Nope, he doesn't like to be in front of the camera if he can help it!
Hahahaha.

Thanks to a helpful waiter who volunteered to take a photo of us after seeing how enthusiastic we were with photo taking.
Hahaha.

First time I'm satisfied with the framing of the photo taken by a stranger too!
Usually it turns out looking like crap.
Or they cut away some part of the background that you wanna be part of.
:p

We didn't do anything much after dinner though,
headed to town and walked around for a bit.

When you've been together for so long (okay maybe not long for some people who are already married, with kids etc),
it's doing the small things together that count.
You stop caring about the times he shows up at your doorstep with flowers or gifts,
but you notice when he drops you a random message to say 'I love you.'
You care less about the times he drop whatever he's doing and rush over to meet you,
but you're happy when he makes extra time from his schedule to have a meal with you.
Long conversations on the phone no more,
but just a short, random call in the middle of the day matters much more.
You no longer plan for special dates every single weekend,
but just happy to be able to shop for grocery (and boring things) and watching movies at home.

It's all the small things that make you feel that,
despite of whatever's going on in your life,
there's that one person who loves you which makes everything constant.

I have my bad days but he makes it good for me by never failing to encourage me with positive thoughts.
I have my moments thinking that something is never going to work out,
but he dispels that with his logical reasoning and talks my problems out with me.
He balances out what I lack and more than makes up for it.

I love you.
Many more 6 years to come!
