2013 has really been treating me well.
In fact, so well that I hardly realise half a year has passed.
In another blink of an eye,
we'll be welcoming 2014 already.
It's so scary how time slips past just like that.
The highlight of my week has got to be my first dining experience at Tim Ho Wan!!!
I've been wanting to go try it ever since it's opening,
but the queue was really off putting.
The last time I passed by Tim Ho Wan,
the queue went all the way to the back.
I couldn't even see the end of the queue.
And for my previous short trip to HK,
we had plans to go for Tim Ho Wan as well but it fell through in the end.
So I missed many chances to try out Tim Ho Wan and was SUPER excited when I was invited to a food tasting session there!
Was looking forward to it the entire week.
Heheh.
Read on because I will later tell you the secret cheat code timing to visit Tim Ho Wan so that you don't have to queue for long!
;)
;)

My Siamese twin who is always with me,
wherever I go.
Hehe.

With other bloggers!

And we could order as much as we want to!!!
It was a super huge dim sum feast and I absolutely couldn't wait to tuck in.
After photo-taking, of course!
I have to share these awesome food with you guys!

There you go.
Just look at that char siew goodness!
(I'm not a fan of the usual char siew to be honest, but I LOVEEEE this pork bun so much!)
The outer layer is sweet and crumbly and melt in your mouth.
And it complements so well with the savoury char siew filling!
For this, I would queue 2 hours.
I heard from their PR that the longest that people have ever queued for is 3 hours!
And FYI, if you're really managed to queue 3 hours,
you get a free shirt that says 'I QUEUED 3 HOURS FOR TIM HO WAN'.
Like those marathon finisher tees, hahaha.
Quite cute right!
Okay, so the best timing to visit Tim Ho Wan?
I heard from the PR that it's 5PM on weekdays!
:)
I'm not sure how true it is...
But worth a try!
The pork buns are reallyyyyyyyy good!
Not kidding you!!

My second favourite dish out of all that we tried that day,
the carrot cake!

The pork liver is one of their star dishes,
alongside with the pork bun and carrot cake!
I liked it quite a lot but Jolene wasn't very taken with it.

Everyone's favourite siew mai!

I really liked the har gao!
I'm actually allergic to prawns since young,
so I hardly eat prawns because they make my throat itchy and I get swollen lips.
But when I grew older,
I found out that when I eat fresh prawns,
I don't get allergic reactions.
So I guess you can call me a prawn detector.
Hahaha.
Anyway, back to the har gao...
It didn't give me any allergic reactions at all!
Which meant they used really fresh prawns for it.
:)

The glutinous rice was awesome too!
But it came at an unfortunate timing because everyone was quite full by then.
I only managed to have a few mouths of this.

We got to order a second round for the pork buns!
Tim Ho Wan actually limits one set (3 pieces) of pork buns for per customers because they didn't have to have a shortage for customers who come in late.
And no takeaways are allowed too.
But we each got to take home 2 sets of pork buns!
Hehehe.
My parents and Jessie had a really awesome supper that night!
I think Tim Ho Wan is really worth a visit because I heard that it's the most affordable restaurant that has a Michelin star!
Plus, you HAVE TO try the pork buns!
They only cost $4.50 for one set by the way!
This is the part where you go 'OMG so cheap ah?'
Sorry if I keep going on about them but they are really that good.
;)
Thank you to Tim Ho Wan for having us over!
Thanks also to Amanda who invited us and Magdalene who sat through the session with us!
:)

Outfit:
Upcoming corset bustier top which I loveeeee and kept in 4 colours!
The Dome Maxi Skirt which so many of you have been asking about will be launched tomorrow night!
;)

Wore our new watches from Yoko out!
:)

And personalised leather key fobs from Yoko for me and Thom!
Super sweet of her right omg.
Hehehe.
I think Thom could really use one of this,
he is always misplacing his keys because you know guys,
they don't attach any keychains or whatsoever to their keys.
But I think this key fob is pretty unisex and makes a good gift for your boyfriend!

And my new favourite watch from Naked Glory!
:D :D
Not sure when will it be launched,
but you can sign up for mailers from them to be informed!
