The Dragon Kiln

Sponsored Post

I'm sure my blog title today must be unfamiliar to most of you.
Not to worry...
Because when I first heard about it,
I was like, "What's that???"

But lately,
I've been feeling more adventurous than usual and am on the lookout to take up some new activities...
So I was pretty hyped up to find out all about the mysterious Dragon Kiln at Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle.

It is the perfect place if you want to seek some much needed refuge from the busy city life.
The kind of place which makes you feel entirely relaxed and at one with nature,
I would say.

The perfect setting for some pottery making and indulging in the arts.

Definitely not my usual scene but I really appreciate how tranquil and quaint this hideout is.

Spotted some pretty Peranakan-styled tableware which I was very, very tempted to buy home.
Hahaha.
Tested and proven that a shopaholic can shop everywhere she goes.

But my photographer/supervisor of the day said no,
because our house has no space to store them.
Which is true la,
hahaha.

Say hello to my photographer/supervisor of the day.
HAHAHA.

Remember the local Channel 8 drama 小娘惹?
The tableware in the show were loaned to the drama by Thow Kwang.

I'm really quite interested to learn how to make pottery.
Anyone wants to join the workshop with me?

The pricing for the workshop as follows if you're keen:
$35 for hand building and $50 for hand building + potter wheel

I would go for the $50 one because I want to try my hand at the potter wheel too!!
Looks really fun whenever I see other people doing it.
Maybe I'll see you at the workshop if you're going!

They have a workshop on 28 June and the latest date of registration is 25 May.

The works of school children who went there for a pottery making workshop.
So pretty!
I'm guessing that these are pen holders but I might be wrong.
Hahaha.

We were taken on a tour of the place and were explained how the pottery had to be fired in the Dragon Kiln before they are finally ready to go on display.
