Keeping my promise to blog about my Bangkok (and hopefully Korea) trip!
It didn't even take me till the end of this week to get this post up.
Thought I should get the momentum going since I already changed my blog header photos and all.
Hahaha.
Bangkok is a place that I would visit without fail every year.
I hardly ever buy clothes there anymore since I have more than enough clothes to wear now,
but the food is too good and I always have a good time in Bangkok despite their weather.
Heh.
It was a really impromptu decision to visit Bangkok so soon after I got back from Korea.
Thom suggested a short getaway before he starts work (which he did this week) and I thought Bangkok was just perfect.
It would also be our last holiday for a long time to come since his work place is pretty hard on him when it comes to taking leave.
We spent a total of 4 days 3 nights in Bangkok this time round and it was an awesome trip for both of us!
We spent a total of 4 days 3 nights in Bangkok this time round and it was an awesome trip for both of us!
Thom booked a room at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam because it was offering a pretty good deal on Agoda.
Such a big room for just SGD80 per night!
It's pretty near to Platinum Mall for those of you who likes shopping there!
Surprisingly I only spent a couple of hours there this trip and I did not buy anything much except for this reallyyyy cute watermelon bralet.
LOL.
Our hotel room view.
I love the ample natural light coming in from the windows!
Really dislike hotel rooms with small/no windows.

Outfit:
Kidston Button Down Shirt in Powder Blue and Pleats Please Skirt in White from TTR,
bag from C&K,
white loafers from overseas
Headed out for dinner after we placed our luggages at the hotel room!
Our first dinner usually is at Bar B Q Plaza @ Central World.
I think I recommended this place from my previous trips as well.
My blog has been of great help on my overseas trips to Korea and Bangkok this year.
Any place that I have already been to on my previous trips but suddenly cannot find/don't have address,
just search for it on my blog.
Not to self praise but I think my travelogues really come in handy.
Hahaha.

"B can you look more enthu??"

Really damn enthu.
Hahaha.

The gyoza is super good.
Oh god.
Shouldn't be blogging at this hour.
The pork belly is also damn yummy!!!
Went to Big C supermarket to buy toiletries after dinner since it was on the way back to the hotel.
I really don't know why so many Singaporeans like to come here.
Hahaha.
It's just like Giant what?
Maybe with a different variety of snacks,
that's all.
Thom looking happy.
I think he was planning to stock up on food for breakfast since he's always saying that I wake up too late and he feels damn hungry by the time I wake up, finish preparing myself and am ready to head out.
#badgirlfriend
Grabbing bags of seaweed and shampoo.
Hahaha.

The best Lays flavour...
Chilli Cheese!!!
Totally regretting not bringing more of it back to Singapore!

Didn't get Haagen Dazs but I was pretty tempted by the flavours!
Cookie Dough Chip sounded so good!

Chatuchak is a must-visit for us whenever we're in BKK!

First buy of the day:
Heart shaped gradient sunnies!
That's me in an upcoming romper from TTR!
Launching it this Sunday, hehe.

Tried this famous chicken noodle soup previously and we went back for it this time round!
ALL THESE GOODNESS for only SGD2 per bowl.
Cheap or cheap?
You can try finding it along the main road of Chatuchak.
If you know where the famous coconut ice cream is,
it is just along that road!
Else you can try searching for Section 21, Soi 29.
The workers of this stall all wear red t-shirts so it is pretty easy to spot them when you're near!

Of course cannot miss out on the coconut ice cream!
Had 2 servings of this.
So good especially in the sweltering heat.
Went back to the hotel for a mid-day break before dinner and decided to take my OOTD by the poolside.
Since we weren't going to be swimming in it,
at least we can find another use for it.
Hahaha.

Received many questions about this upcoming romper when I posted it on my IG earlier.
Happy to say that we will finally be releasing it this Sunday!
It comes with side pockets for those who like your rompers with pockets.
;)
Love the print so much.
We had the factory print this for us specially!

My loot from Chatuchak!
HAHAHA how cute is my knitted pineapple bag!
Got it at 360 baht.
Expensive but we could not manage to get the seller to give it to us at a lower price.
Meh.
:(

Dinner was at Som Tam Nua.
It's a popular restaurant located just opposite Siam Paragon.
Such a big room for just SGD80 per night!

Dinner was at Som Tam Nua.

Som Tam Nua
392/14 Siam Square Soi 5
I recommend the fried chicken and the papaya salad with salted egg!
I would give the spicy soup a miss though.
Only drank a mouthful of it before saving my stomach space for the other 2 dishes.
"There's always room for dessert" so we went to After You for some toast since dinner was not particularly filling.
If you have not tried the Shibuya Honey Toast,
you have not been to Bangkok I'm telling you.

This place is forever bustling with people.
Took us about 10 minutes before we got ourselves a seat.

They have quite a few outlets though!
There are outlets at Central World (level 5) and Thonglor (opposite Seen Space) as well.

One of my favourites in Bangkok!
Really wish that someone can franchise this and open an outlet in Singapore.
Hahaha.
Anyone?
Confirm long queue!

My cutie.
<3

Damn cute right the macarons!
Doubt they would taste as good as they looked though,
so I gave them a miss.

Finally got to try the famous SabX2 wanton mee!!
Been hearing raves about it from many Singaporeans and most of them really like this.
Except Sissy but she might just be the odd one out.
Hahah.
We saw many Singaporeans there when we were eating.
It was like 50% Singaporeans and 50% locals.
It was as good as what everyone said.
Just that the portion was a bit too small for me!
Not satisfying enough.
Love that they were so generous with the pork lard.
HEHE.
I heard that there's a wanton mee stall which just opened up in Ang Mo Kio that claims to be the Soi 19 wanton mee.
Shall go try it some time!
Maybe when the hype dies down.
Hate having to queue.
Just look for Soi 19 and walk into the lane.

Headed to Roast for brunch after the wanton mee which did not even fill half our tummies!
Hailed a cab and it brought us to the correct place!
:)

My iced tea because the weather calls for it.

And since Roast is pretty well known for their coffee,
Thom ordered his usual latte.

The very awesome eggs benedict.

The lava cake definitely paled in comparison to the eggs benedict.
It wasn't as oozy as I would have liked it to be!
Would love to visit Roast again the next time I'm in BKK.
So many other items on the menu which I'm dying to try!

And if you still have space for desserts,
there's an After You outlet just right opposite!

Outfit:
Beckham Cropped Tee and Pleats Please Skirt in White from TTR

Macarons which did not taste as good as they looked.
;(
Bought them from Siam Paragon Ground Floor.
We didn't have plans for our last day so Thom randomly googled and we found this place called Kuppa.
Headed there for brunch without much expectations and we ended up being pleasantly surprised by the food there.

They were supposedly famous for their coffee but somehow I felt that Roast has a better brew out of the two.
Pancakes which took me by surprise because when it was served to me,
the berries compote was not even on the pancake stack.
It was just 2 plain and fat pancakes staring back at me.
I was half expecting it to taste horrible before taking my first bite.
But I was SO WRONG.
It tasted so extremely light and fluffy.
The compote was not too sour-ish and had just the right tinge of sweetness without tasting too artificial.
BEST PANCAKES EVER.

Ordered the spicy pork salad which doesn't look like salad at all because there was so much meat on the plate compared to veggies!
Hahaha.
This was really good as well but the other 2 dishes tasted better.

We were taken aback by this when it was first served to us as well.
Hahaha.
Were we being too judge-y or does this place need to work on their food presentation??
Anyway,
this crispy pork leg is THE BOMBZ.
If I could only order one thing out of all that we ordered,
it would be this.
So crispy, so not oily at all and so tender on the inside.
Given that the skin tasted so crispy,
we did not expect the meat to taste as tender and melt-in-the-mouth as it did.
I'm feeling so hungry now!
Need to stop describing this dish before I start digging my fridge for a midnight snack.
LOL.

Definitely a place to visit when you're in Bangkok.
The food here left the best impression on me for this trip.
Totally unexpected hidden find!
:)

Outfit:
Bustier top from Forever 21 Korea,
Flippy Scuba Skirt in Hot Pink from TTR,
pineapple knitted bag from Chatuchak
Now that my Bangkok trip is out of the way,
Korea trip is next!
Some of you emailed you about the products which I bought from Korea last year...
So I think I will blog about the products which I bought from Korea first!
:)
Definitely feeling accomplished right now for having completed such a long blog post!
Yay me!
