Thought I would do up this post before I scoot off for another work trip!
Hopefully also the very last few trips for the year!
I'm feeling the dread now that I'm travelling for work a little too often.
Anyhow,
I finally found time to do up part 2!
Another image heavy post,
enjoy!
We went back to Hongdae on our third morning in Seoul because Aloy wanted us to try the brunch menu at Cafe Organic.
The ambience at every single cafe we've been to in Seoul is so good that I now have much higher expectations whenever I step into cafes in Singapore.
Korea has an extremely prevalent "cafe culture" and you can find a decent cafe on almost any street.

The breakfast was SO GOOD.
The two yellow clumps of 'dumplings' on the plate are actually a form of french toast.
And they tasted heavenly with a slight drizzle of maple syrup over.
OMG.
Just kill me now.
Cafe Organic serves their brunch from 11am-3pm,
don't miss the timing if you want to try their awesome brunch set!
It was also really value for money because each set (plus the drink) only cost us 15000 won per person.
How to get to Cafe Organic:
The same way to Style Nanda (Hongdae outlet).
The cafe is along the street before you turn left into the street with Style Nanda.
It's pretty obvious so you won't miss it!
Refer to HERE to see how to get to Style Nanda!
Wandering around the streets of Hongdae because there were quite a number of interesting shops there.
Aloy was trying to bring us to the Trick Eye Museum but he kinda forgot how to get there.
So we spent some time walking around,
just taking in the sights and sounds of Hongdae.
After cutting through many small alleys,
we finally arrived at the museum!
I don't have directions on how to get there because I was pretty lost myself as well,
after having walked so much.
Perhaps you can google for the address if you're keen to pay the museum a visit!

This is my favourite illusion out of all!
Spot me trying to get out of the giant fish's mouth,
hahahah.

Jolene obviously makes a better facial expression of someone on the verge of being swallowed by a monster fish.
LOL.

And these are made for me,
I'm sure.

We paid 15000 won per admission into the trick eye museum and the ice museum!
There was nothing much in the ice museum,
but we kept ourselves entertained by repeatedly going on the ice slide they had inside.
Hahah.

When Aloy initially told us that he was bringing us to a cafe with live sheep,
I honestly thought he was bullshitting us.
Hahaha.
Then when we reached the cafe I was like 'OMG REAL SHEEP YOU'RE NOT LYING LEH ALOY!'
It was feeding time for the sheep and they were not let out to roam around in the cafe,
so we didn't sit down and order food and drinks.
Took photos with the cute fluffy sheeps and left.
But I remember feeling really amazed that a cafe with real sheep actually exists.
The cafe is called Thanks Nature Cafe for your info,
not sheep cafe!
Hahaha.
How to get to Thanks Nature Cafe:
Hongik University Exit 8.
Turn right after you come out from the exit and walk straight.
You'll see 6.9% plaza on your left, turn right and cross the small street.
Walk straight and when you see a 7/11,
cross to the right side of the street and walk straight till you see H&M.
Cross to the road on your left and walk straight till you see the cafe!
Alternatively if you're not a sheep person,
you can head to Hongdae's fashion street for some shopping!
From H&M,
just walk straight cross the road and you're standing on the fashion street.

We finally tried the famous army stew (known as budae jjigae to Koreans) and seafood pancake!
Ate at a random shop in Namdaemun,
which is also a good place for you to buy ginseng, korean seaweed and I don't know what else.
Hahaha.
We didn't really walk around much because we didn't want to buy any ginseng or seaweed.

Ended our night at Hongdae (again!) because I wanted to visit Style Nanda again to replace my lost items.
/cries a river
But anyway,
it might be a blessing in disguise because we got to try the lava chocolate cakes at Chocolate!
It was beside Cafe Organic but we all had bursting bellies after brunch so we had to give this a miss.
Would have been really perfect if they came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, though.

Had the most awesome lunch recommended by Jolene's friend who is currently residing in Korea!
We met her for lunch and shopping and she brought us to this place which serves super good jjimdak.
Jjimdak is a dish made of chicken and various vegetables marinated in a special kind of sauce,
and is usually for sharing.
We ordered medium for 4 people and the portion was just about right.
The seaweed tofu rice topped with roe was DA BOMB.
Almost ate 2 big bowls of this but then I reminded myself that I had to save some stomach space for desserts.
HAHA.
How to get to the awesome jjimdak restaurant:
Ewha Station Exit 2 or 3.
Walk down a very steep slope when you come out from the station (same way to the fashion street),
turn left when you see Black Smith/Dunkin Donuts.
Walk all the way till you see Nature Republic then turn left.
The restaurant is on the second level.

Sissy and cute Lesley doing the "Korean pose".
Hahah Lesley says Korean girls like to pose with hands on their faces so that their faces look smaller in photos.

Another must-try in Korea...
Pat bing soo!
It's a popular shaved ice dessert in Korea during summer.
Which was why we didn't have to queue when we got there.
We tried both matcha and milk and I cannot decide which I prefer!

It was so nice to take photos in Seoul.
Anyhow take anywhere also nice.
I MISS KOREA SO MUCH!
:(
Already planning for my trip back next year!

Kimbap (Korean sushi) and soondubujjigae (tofu stew) for dinner!
My favourite Korean dish has got to be tofu stew.
Heheh.
I don't like it too spicy though,
the one we had was just nice!
We had it at this chain eating place called Tomato,
so you can give it a try if you happen to pass by any!
:)

There's always room for desserts after meal in Seoul.
Softree has the yummiest vanilla soft serve I've ever tried so far!
The honey chips topping is just too awesome.
It was so good that me and Sissy got ourselves a serving each even though we normally would share.
Try this famous soft serve at:
Lotte Departmental Store (Main branch Myeongdong)
Basement 1

With my favourite dog at the cafe
Went to a dog cafe along the streets of Myeongdong and I was really excited because I've yet to been to any.
There's a cat cafe too but we didn't manage to find our way there.

I find huge dogs there the cutest!
The golden retriever was also really adorable.
Such an irony since I own such a tiny dog myself, hahah.

Having fun with the dalmatian
We paid 7000 won per entry and that got us a drink each as well!
We went in expecting the cafe to smell of dogs but the place smelt quite okay and looks really hygienic.
Some of the dogs there might bark/bite at you but the staff will warn you which are the ones not to provoke before you enter the cafe.

Pugs are so cute with their perpetually grumpy faces

Hello there, you have such big doleful eyes

We were supposed to shop at Dongdaemun after a hearty meal of Vietnamese cuisine at Lotte Fittin,
but we ended up heading back to the hotel because we found cheap tickets on Scoot and decided to extend our stay by 2 days!
Hehehe.
Which means I've 2 more days of my trip to share!
Stay tuned!!
Oh and I've finally managed to change my Instagram username to joycesayshello!
I've been wanting to do that for ages because shoppingluvzme was getting on my nerves with the bad spelling.
I previously tried to register shoppinglovesme (which is the same as my twitter handle) but it was taken!
:(
Follow me now @joycesayshello!
