Filling up our tummies with good food is one of the things that me and Thom always look forward to doing on the weekends.
Awesome food = happy tummies = happy us!
Last weekend, we went in search of the super pretty rainbow cake that I kept seeing on my Instagram feed.
Thom and his usual order of drink, coffee.
He normally orders the hot latte but that afternoon was particularly hot so he went for the iced instead.
And meanwhile,
since I'm trying my best to stay away from caffeine due to my insomnia problems...
I ordered the iced honey lemon.
The bright and inviting interior of the cafe!
The seats are pretty limited due to the space constraint though.
They have outdoor seats as well but I doubt anyone will want to be outside suffering the heat.
The pretty rainbow cake in it's full glory!
Just looking at me makes me happy already.
Look at the colours!!!
We also ordered the raspberry white chocolate cheesecake.
Not surprisingly, I prefer the taste of this to that of the rainbow cake.
Since you know, rainbow cake is actually just buttercake + a ton of food colouring.
Hahahaha.

Okay, feel free to ignore me.
Got sick of the rainbow cake after a while so we didn't finish the entire thing.
It's photogenic but I don't think I will go back just for it.

The skirt is actually a remake of the previously popular Dakota Pleated Skirt!
If you own a piece of the skirt,
you would know that the material and fit is really awesome.
Heh.
We've received feedback that some of you prefer to have inner lining for this skirt so we've added it this time round!
Thinking of doing this skirt in new colours too,
suggestions anyone?

Put together a simple outfit for last Sunday because me and Thom wanted to hang around in the neighbourhood.
Previously wore this top in white out and now the watermelon pink!
Way too awesome for the sweltering heat and now I'm thinking of keeping the black/mint as well.
HMM.
Trying to see whose eyebags are bigger.
LOL.
We conclude that Thom has bigger eyebags but mine are worse because they are double layered.

Heard that a new place called Grub opened up in Bishan Park so we headed there!
Unfortunately, due to their popularity (hahaha maybe because AMK/Bishan is super deprived of good food places!) we were told that we had to wait for around 1 hour 15 minutes to be seated.
Almost fainted when I heard that there were 17 tables waiting in front of us.
Decided to wait it out since they have an sms alert system for the waiting list.
And so we sat around on the benches in Bishan Park.
Checked out their menu while waiting!
While waiting, we were looking at our surroundings and realised that our future home would be within walking distance from that part of Bishan Park.
Thom says he will drag me for regular jogs at Bishan Park but I'm sure I will find ways to talk him out of it.
HAHAHA.
Super cute and humongous dog which totally resembled an oversized teddy bear!
It was really friendly too!
Kept hovering near me for licks and pats.
Heheh.
Grub is pet friendly, although you can't have indoor seating if you bring your dog/cat along!
I didn't know that,
else I would have brought my little princess along!
Anyway, it turned out that they underestimated the timing and we ended up getting our table after a 1 hr and 45 minutes wait.
That marks the longest amount of time that I have ever queued.
For anything at all.
Which is why I haven't tried queuing for Mcdonald's Hello Kitty and the minions.
HAHAHA.
I'm not the most patient person when it comes to waiting in line but I don't know why I was so willing to wait that day.
Immediately got down to placing our orders because we were absolutely starved by the time we sat down.
Omg I still cannot believe that I waited so long for food.
Ordered the truffled eggs cocotte, slow roasted pork belly, grilled steak and frites and belgium waffle with grilled banana, salty caramel and dark chocolate sauce!
Would recommend the truffled eggs cocotte and the slow roasted pork belly!
Plus the fries which came with Thom's steak.
I think Grub serves fries as a side dish too,
so I'll probably go for that the next time I'm there!
If you ask me whether it was worth the wait...
Well, I would probably not go back if I had to wait over 30 minutes for a table.
Weekday noons would be a good time to visit I guess.
They don't take reservations yet so unless you're prepared to wait,
I would advise against going on weekends!
