The haze today has been so, so bad.
Every single time I log in to the Twitter app,
there will surely be tweets about how bad the haze is.
Singapore looks like Genting now, minus the awesome weather.
Singapore looks like Genting now, minus the awesome weather.
Plus, there's a very choking and tear inducing smoky smell which annoys the hell out of me.
Tried my very best today to stay indoors with air conditioning on full blast.
I'm leaving Singapore for work tomorrow so I thought I'll keep my blog updated!
Be back in a couple of days,
don't miss me too much!
Okay back to the title of my blog post...
I was invited to a Lee Kum Kee event earlier last week,
and I brought (who else but) the Sissy along since she's quite into bento making.
Or at least I think she tried making bentos a couple of times for Ben before.

Hahaha.
I myself had been to several baking classes last time and I love cooking/baking,
so I was really excited for this event!
It turned out super fun!
The purpose of the event was to introduce 3 of their new products and incorporate them into the bento making session.
I think it's a really innovative way to introduce their new products!
:)
Pictures time!

Done by us!
Impressive?
HEHEHE.
I'm just kidding.
We're noob level 101.
Those bentos were done by the bento master,
Ms Shirley Wong!
After seeing the display sets,
we were all hyped up and ready to go!

The yummy condiments we got to try out that day!
They are not available in NTUCs yet.
But I think you can find them in Giant/Cold Storage already!

Our cooking station!
Okay, I admit, I'm not the most organised person when it comes to cooking...
Don't judge when you see the station gets progressively messier later!!!

Pretty Alene sharing our cooking station!

AND LET IT BEGIN!
I don't know why but it was so hard to catch up during the session.
Or maybe I'm slow and not housewife material.
:(

YUCK.
CARROTS.

Loving our Lee Kum Kee aprons!
Hehehe.
We look so pro in the aprons right.
Like we're ready to cook some Michelin worthy dishes.
HAHAHA.

An array of Lee Kum Kee sauces!
Actually I'm very familiar with this brand even before I attended the event,
which is also one of the reasons I was looking forward to the event.
My mum uses many of their condiments when she cooks at home.
I tasted a bit of the tomato sauce and it was really rich in tomato flavour!
The colour also appeared to be redder than tomato sauces on the mass market because they use only red and ripe tomatos.
I also love that there are no preservatives/colouring added.

Amanda came to help out with the grill for a while!

AND THIS IS ME.
I was like...
'SHIT HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO FLIP THEM??? IS IT COOKED ALREADY?'
Damn noob please.
Obviously I haven't been in the kitchen much.
And before I realised it,
all chao ta already!!!
:(
It's a good thing that Thom is a MUCH better cook than I am.
I'm also deathly afraid of spurting oil bits.
Scaredy cat is me.

Cute hippo scissor!
Speaking of scissors,
I just gave myself a super deep cut on my middle finger today with a pair.
:'(
Wasn't really thinking and I cut myself before I knew it.
Thought it wasn't serious but blood starting spewing out.
HAHA okay maybe not spew...
Flow.
Now I'm having difficulties typing on the keyboard.
Feel so handicapped.
Meh.

Sissy hard at work!

Mine, Alene's, Sissy's.

Snapped a photo of this and proudly sent it to Thom.
He was actually quite impressed, hahaha.
Then he asked me when am I making it for him.
LOL.
I feel so thankful for the Lee Kum Kee sauces because they made the food taste good even though I am a bad cook.
Hehehe.
We each brought home a bottle of the new sauces and my mum was so happy!

Us posing proudly with our cute bentos!!!
:D :D
New found friends from the event,
Alene and Amanda!
:)
Thank you to the awesome people from Lee Kum Kee and Brand Cellar for having us at this event!
We really enjoyed ourselves a lot and it was really fun learning how to make bentos!
I want to try making the Hello Kitty bento someday!
HEHE.
Hokays, my blog post made me quite hungry so I'm off to dig around the house for some food!
I don't know why but it was so hard to catch up during the session.
