Back to updating about my awesome Japan trip!
I left it off at when me and Qian stayed at Mochi house,
so here we go, peektures!
It was a really wonderful experience staying with a Japanese family,
and I guess we're very lucky to stay with a very warm and cute family!
:)
In fact, they made me kinda homesick because they reminded me of mine.
Again, I was very surprised at how the Japanese are such good hosts.
Mochi cleared his schedule for the weekend just so that he can bring us around the entire 2 days!
And it feels really good to rely on someone to bring you around in a foreign land.
Especially one that is full of language barriers.
Mochi speaks really good and accurate English, probably because he's a lawyer to be!
His mum also gave him 10,000 yen every day to pay for our food and travelling.
Such kindness!
We were really super thankful to them for taking great care of us.

Waiting to board the cute train to Kamakura!
I think Kamakura is a good change from the main Tokyo area...
Not so much shopping but they have great sightseeing places and temples and shrines!
I think it was great that we had someone who knows the place well to guide us around..
Because the entire day we travelled by walking and it was a good workout!
;)
I don't think there are any buses around the area though.
It's like a small town so if you visit, grab a map before exploring the place!

I love the overhead cables they have there!
:)))
Such a pretty sight.

First stop was Hasedera temple!
That's Mochi buying the entrance tickets for us.
Some temples/shrines require a small fee for entrance, by the way.

We climbed a small slope within the temple area and..

Behold the magnificent view!
:)
So serene and peaceful.

Japanese people like to do the peace sign when they take photos!

This was another temple which we visited, but I can't remember the name!
Anyway, we got to go into the buddha statue!
And I stuck a $2 sgd note inside because I saw a lot of other currencies but no Singapore currency!
:p
If you spot any when you visit the same statue, it's put there by me!
Hahaha.

It was a bright and sunny day with clear blue skies...
Awesome weather to take long walks because the temperature was around 23-24 deg celsius!

We took a short walk to Yuigahama beach!
Which is apparently quite famous according to Mochi because a Japanese songwriter wrote a song about this beach before...
Haha.

Not the cleanest beach around but I think it has it's own charms...
;)

There happened to be a beach festival going on!
Super lively!

Taiko performance!
:)
We went off after the performance to a street in Kamakura selling all sorts of souvenirs and food...
But my camera battery died on me unfortunately so I didn't have photos for the rest of Day 5!
Was a great day spent in Kamakura nonetheless.
Will definitely go back if I have the chance to!
The next day had more photos because I headed out with a fully charged camera!
Learnt my lesson, hehe.
Mochi got a friend of his, Yuma, to join us and bring us around Yokohama!
Apparently because he likes to bring his girlfriends there for dates.
So he knows the area well, hahah.

Our tour guides of the day!
:)))
I think Japanese guys make good boyfriends.
They took very good care of us while we were out,
making sure we have food to fill our tummies,
and keeping us entertained!
They're very gentlemanly as well!
We took a ferry when we reached Yokohama station to cross to the other side!
I think Yuma was scared of me at first...
Which explains the huge gap.
Hahahahaha.
We took a walk through Yokohama park.
And it's the season for roses because they had really HUGE roses!
They're extremely colourful and gorgeous!

And they emit really strong rose fragrance too!
We could smell it from steps away..
And I was really amazed because I've never thought that roses really have fragrance.

They have a lot of painters setting up their easels and canvases too!
The good ones usually have a crowd of people standing around to watch.

And we took another walk from Yokohama park to Chinatown for lunch!
I totally did not gain any weight the whole time I was in Japan.
I even lost weight because the lifestyle I lead there was too healthy!
Long walks everyday, non sugared drinks and healthy food.

It was a good idea to have lunch at Chinatown because we finally can understand the menu...
Hahah.
There're some restaurants in Japan which does not provide any English/Chinese menu,
so you might have to look at the pictures and take your chances when you order food sometimes!
We went to a couple more places after lunch,
but I'll save it for another post because I'm getting sleepy and we really took too many photos that day.
Hahaha.
Will continue day 6 from my next Japan post!
