Too Precious.

There's just this thing about CNY which sets it apart from other occasions/PHs.
:)
I have quite a large extended family which I seldom get to meet during other times of the year, except some of them.
Which is why I especially love CNY.
(Other than the fact that I can pig out on bak kwas, pineapple tarts and other goodies to my heart's content, heh.)

Every CNY, there will be new updates from the relatives,
some people would have progressed into a different stage of life,
kids grow up and look different from last year,
new additions to the family.

I hardly meet my friends during CNY,
because I believe CNY is time for spending with the family.

This year, my family has grown a lot closer due to CNY.
Especially my dad, who is somehow...
Less grumpy and more willing to be involved in family bonding stuff!
Which is something which wasn't expected, but makes me really happy all the same!

Really grumpy about the (too short) CNY break though.
SIGH.
CNY Y U NO HAVE MORE DAYS!

Here're some photo updates!
I usually spend my 除夕 rather peacefully...
Lunch was at Thom's place with his family!
;)

Glorious weather and view from my room window.
:)

Wanted to do casual with a tinge of festivity,
so I went with an upcoming TTR lace crochet top and the 花开富贵 skirt!

Table-filled with dishes which Thom's mum cooked!
:)

捞鱼生咯!

HUAT AH!
:D

Watched some CNY programmes before heading to Ang Mo Kio central to do some last minute shopping before the shops close!

Wanted to choose a nice ang bao design for my parents.
:)

AND look who we bumped into at AMK Hub.
Hahaha.

Home for reunion dinner!!!

My first year of giving extra allowance to my parents during CNY!
Not that they need the money...
It's just a token of appreciation after getting ang bao money from them for the past 21 years of my life.

Scrumptious dishes which my superwoman mum cooked for reunion dinner!
:)

Someone wants to join in too!
:p

Gave her a piece of abalone to eat so that she doesn't feel left out..
Hahaha.

Changed into our new set of pajamas while Xiaobai wears her cheongsam!
And we're ready to 守岁!

We did our usual house visits on 初一,
first to my godparent's place,
then to my grandparents,
then my great grandma,
after which I'll pop by Thom's place,
and go back to my grandparent's place for dinner!

Wore the La Vie En Dress!
:))

Pineapple tarts galore!

CNY is like, the only legitimate reason to gain weight/fats/calories.
Hehe.
Love snacking on all the goodies!!!
In fact, I'm still munching on those pineapple tarts now as I type.
Crumbs all over my keyboard.

Sissy wearing the polkadots cheongsam!

Baby Reyyan!
<3
I think around 1/3 of the photos I took during CNY are of my baby cousins/nephews/nieces!
Nothing to do,
take photos of cute babies!

Jess wore the Vintage 60's top with Fairylights Fishtail skirt,
while my mum wore the Cocktail Lounge Dress!

Beware of my only 2 teeth (and my ultimate cuteness)!

Our taken-only-once-a-year family portrait.
At the same spot as always!

I'm no fan of couple wears,
but I find this parent-kid wear thing really cute!!!
:D

Headed towards my grandparents' house next...
:)

My jovial grandpa!

My grandma asking Jess about something (in hokkien),
and Jess trying to comprehend and answer using her half past six CMI hokkien!
LOL.

Traditional CNY drink which my grandma makes every year,
longan red date!

Another set of matching parent-kid wear!
:D

Nephew Evan and Niece Jiexin!
;)))

My great grandma who's nearing 100 and still healthy!
But recently she seems to be getting more senile,
she no longer recognises some of us. :'(
I guess that's old age for you..

And I think she has great fortune in her life to have 5 generations of family together already.
:)

What's with your scrunched up face kiddo?
U NO LIKE ME CARRY?
:((

AUNTIE KAT!!
I'm not kidding, she's really our aunt! Hahaha.
Confusing family tree yo.

Sophieeeeeeee! <3
Wearing the Must Be Love Scoop Back Dress!

The cheongsam girls!

Oriental pose major fail!
:p

Favorite CNY past-time,
PLAYING BANLUCK!
Everyone so into it, hahah.

I don't have the full family portrait of my extended family,
but I think we'll get a chance to take one this June during my Grandpa's 80th birthday celebration!
:)

Shall give my blog a break...
Continue with the updates soon!
As you can see, I reallyyyyy took a lot of photos this CNY, haha.
